TOGO
Made from a calf, Togo is a popular leather on HPF and for good reason. Togo holds its shape well, it has a good scratch resistance. Many clients enjoy the raised grain but smooth-to-the-touch texture. Togo is lighter than the clemence leather and holds its shape better, however, how rigid you prefer your bag to be is up to you.
SWIFT
Swift has a micro grain and soft-to-touch leather. However, extra care needs to be taken with swift, as it’s more prone to scratching, but minor ones can be rubbed away with just your fingers. Swift replaced Gulliver leather.
EPSOM
Epsom is a man printed grain which has a slightly laminated look. It is a ridgid leather so maintains the shape of the bag well. It’s lightweight, very easy to clean and more durable in the rain than other leathers.
CHEVRE
This Hermes leather comes from goat hide and is extremely resilient against scratches as well as being lightweight, making it suitable for anyone wanting a Hermes bag for resilient regular use.
OSTRICH
Instantly recognisable by its evenly raised pores, Ostrich leather has a robust texture, ideal for maintaining a structured shape. This skin can be porous to moisture, so HPF recommends wrapping an Hermès Twilly around the handle for added protection.
SHINY POROSUS CROCODILE
With smaller, more symmetrical markings than its freshwater relatives, Porosus Crocodile is a highly sought-after exotic skin, with distinctive small dots defining each scale. The shiny finish is achieved with an extensive buffing process which creates an ultra glossy exterior. Porosus can be identified by a caret symbol (^) located next to the gilt-embossed Hermès logo.
LIZARD
As one of Hermès’ most delicate skins, Lizard requires special attention to avoid drying and peeling, thus it should be kept at a comfortable temperature. Identifiable by a ‘-’ sign next to the Hermès logo, this skin is generally used for smaller handbags and accessories due to the compact size of the African monitor lizard.
